Danni's Danish

Pipe and a crepe? Cigar and a waffle? No. Doobie and a Danish. 

Ingredients for Danish & Filling:

  • 2 crescent roll tubes
  • 8oz cream cheese
  • 2 tbs melted butter
  • 1 tsp. lemon juice
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • vanilla extract 

Ingredients for glaze:

  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar
  • 4 tsp. milk
  • vanilla extract 

Directions:

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
  2. in a medium bowl combine, softened cream cheese, lemon juice, vanilla & white sugar, mix well and set aside.
  3. Open rolls tube BUT DO NOT UNROLL THEM. Take a sharp knife and slice them thick (like cinnamon rolls).
  4. Lay each slice on a greased baking sheet, and use your fingers to indent them, form a small wall to hold the filling.
  5. Melt 2 tbs of butter, fully melted. Add 1/4 cup brown sugar and mix together. Brush generously over each raw Danish.
  6. Dollop a spoonful (or two) of the filling into each Danish and bake for 17-20 minutes.
  7. In a small bowl mix together glaze ingredients and drizzle over WARM Danish.
