Pipe and a crepe? Cigar and a waffle? No. Doobie and a Danish.
Ingredients for Danish & Filling:
- 2 crescent roll tubes
- 8oz cream cheese
- 2 tbs melted butter
- 1 tsp. lemon juice
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
- vanilla extract
Ingredients for glaze:
- 1/2 cup powdered sugar
- 4 tsp. milk
- vanilla extract
Directions:
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
- in a medium bowl combine, softened cream cheese, lemon juice, vanilla & white sugar, mix well and set aside.
- Open rolls tube BUT DO NOT UNROLL THEM. Take a sharp knife and slice them thick (like cinnamon rolls).
- Lay each slice on a greased baking sheet, and use your fingers to indent them, form a small wall to hold the filling.
- Melt 2 tbs of butter, fully melted. Add 1/4 cup brown sugar and mix together. Brush generously over each raw Danish.
- Dollop a spoonful (or two) of the filling into each Danish and bake for 17-20 minutes.
- In a small bowl mix together glaze ingredients and drizzle over WARM Danish.
