Danni's Mexican Sprinkle Cookies

It's pretty much sugar cookies covered in sprinkles. 

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup butter softened
  • 1 cup white sugar
  • 1 room temp egg 
  • 1 tsp. vanilla extract
  • 1 tsp. almond extract
  • 1 tbs. milk
  • 3 cups flour
  • 1 tsp. baking powder
  • 1/4 tsp. salt
  • Nonpareils sprinkles (a lot, at least a whole small bottle 3.5 oz)

Directions:

  1. Cream together softened butter and sugar in a large until smooth.
  2. Add in egg and mix again.
  3. Add in the almond extract, the vanilla extract and milk while mixing. Combine well.
  4. In a different bowl, combine the flour, baking powder and salt. Whisk together.
  5. Add the flour mixture 1/2 cup at a time to make sure all gets mixed in. Scrape down sides also.
  6. Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Either grease a baking sheet or use a silicone mat. 
  7. In a bowl, dump your sprinkles.
  8. Use a tablespoon scoop to measure out your cookie dough balls. Should be a little more than a tablespoon. Place onto baking sheet.
  9. Use your fingers to gently press them down some. Thick or thin, it does not matter. (Watch your timing now.)
  10. Roll/coat your flattened out cookie dough in the sprinkles. You want them nicely covered too. Place back onto baking sheet.
  11. Bake for 17-20 minutes. 
  12. Once done, let cool on sheet for two minutes. After, place on to rack for complete cooling.
