Soup Season Episode #2 is here, and it might be better than the French Onion.
Ingredients:
- 1 bag of 15 Bean Soup CAJUN style
- 1 package of Hot Smoked Sausage Kielbasa
- 1 package of bacon
- 1 diced yellow onion
- 2-3 diced jalapeños
- 6 cups Chicken Broth
- garlic powder, salt and pepper
Directions:
- In large crockpot, add RINSED beans, chicken broth, 1/2 - 3/4 of the Cajun seasoning packet, diced vegetables, garlic powder and some salt and pepper. Stir well.
- Cover and cook on HIGH for 2 1/2 hours. Stirring occasionally.
- Once first cooking round is up, start cooking the Kielbasa in one skillet and the bacon in another. I sliced the sausage in smallish circles and cooked it. I also sliced the bacon before cooking, which is totally unnecessary. Once cooked, add it to the crockpot and stir.
- Cover and cook for 3 more hours on HIGH.
- Delicious over rice or by itself!
