Ingredients:
- 1 cup warm water
- 2 tbs active dry yeast
- 3 tbs canola oil
- 1 1/2 tsp salt
- 3 1/2 - 4 cups of all-purpose flour
- 1 egg
- 3 tbs sugar
- 2 tbs melted butter
Directions:
- In a mixing bowl, stir in yeast, oil and sugar into warm water. Let sit for 5 - 10 minutes, until frothy.
- Whisk in egg & salt.
- Stir in flour using 3 cups at first. Add 1/4 cup until a soft dough forms.
- Turn dough onto floured surface and knead for 5-7 minutes. Dough should be smooth and elastic.
- When no longer sticky, divide into 12 equal parts (regular sized burgers) or (8 for some jumbo burgers). Shape each piece into a slightly flattened ball.
- Place on greased baking sheets, 3" apart. Let rise for 15 minutes, should have doubled in size.
- Heat oven to 425 degrees.
- Bake for 8 - 12 minutes or until golden brown.
- Place buns on wire rack after baking and brush with melted butter immediately.
- Allow to almost cool entirely before slicing!
