Danni's Pizza

This is going to taste better than spending $45 on a pizza delivery. 

Ingredients for Dough:

  • 2 1/2 tsp active dry yeast
  • 1 cup warm water
  • 2 1/4 cups flour
  • 2 tbs olive oil
  • 2 tsp white cane sugar
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • oil for coating pizza pan

Directions for dough:

1. In a small bowl, dissolve yeast, set aside for 10 minutes.

2. In large bowl add flour, olive oil, sugar, salt and yeast mixture. Stir to combine. With mixer, mix for 3 minutes until a stiff dough forms, if kneading by hand, do for 7 minutes. (If sticky add a bit of flour, if too dry add a bit of oil.

3. On a cutting board dust with flour, along with a rolling pin. Take dough ball and cut in half. (This is going to make 2 medium sized pizzas) Roll out dough with rolling pin to fit the size of the pan.

4. Grease pan with cooking oil, and lay dough down on to it. 

5. Once sauce is done, add to top along with toppings of choice.

Ingredients for Sauce:

  • 4 Roma tomatoes (wedged)
  • 1 can of tomato paste
  • LOTS of garlic cloves (minced)
  • 1 tb Olive Oil,
  • measure with your heart; Italian Seasoning, garlic powder, onion powder, 1 tsp red pepper flakes, salt & pepper

Directions for sauce:

1. Wedge (or smaller cuts) tomatoes and place in bowl to smash and make smoother before cooking. Once smashed or at least mushy add to medium saucepan. 

2. Mince ALL THAT GARLIC and add to saucepan, along with, tomato paste (entire small can), olive oil and the seasonings. Bring that to a little boil, then simmer.

Directions for assemble: 

Preheat oven at 375' & bake for 17-19 minutes

1. On formed pizza dough, add enough sauce to evenly spread across. Do not make it super heavy, but don't be a cheapskate either. 

2. Add shredded cheddar cheese ALL OVER. (Pretend there is going to be no crust on the pizza, add toppings on the entirety)

3. Add either one or two more toppings. I always use Pepperoni and maybe some olives. 

4. Bake for 17 minutes, make sure it is sizzling when you remove it from the oven. 

5. Sprinkle a pinch of parsley on the done pizza. Cut and enjoy.
