Danni's Meatball Subs

Just as good as the sandwich place. 😉 

Ingredients:

  • 1 lb ground beef 
  • 1 jar marinara sauce
  • slices of mozzarella and provolone cheese
  • Sub sandwich bread
  • parsley 
  • veggies of choice
  • breadcrumbs 
  • 1 egg
  • ketchup & mustard
  • garlic powder, onion powder, cumin, salt & pepper

Directions:

  1. In large bowl, combine ground beef, seasonings. ketchup, mustard, egg and breadcrumbs. Mix well.
  2. Preheat oven to 350 degrees. 
  3. Form meatballs, about the size of golf balls. Add them to muffin tin or a baking sheet. Add a squirt of ketchup on the top of each one. Bake for 12 minutes on each side.
  4. Once meatballs are done, (keep oven on); in a large skillet add marinara sauce and meatballs. (Medium-low heat) Coat well.
  5. Add provolone and mozzarella slices to the top of meatballs, still in skillet. Cover and reduce heat.
  6. Slice sub bread but not all the way through and lay on a baking sheet. Add some more slices of cheese, add meatballs and some extra sauce. Add toppings.
  7. Place in oven for 5-7 minutes.
